Pedestrian Hit, Killed By Vehicle In North Haven

A 60-year-old man was hit and killed after getting off a city bus in North Haven.

The incident took place around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday after the New Haven resident exited a city bus on Quinnipiac Avenue near Cindy Lane, said the North Haven Police.

While crossing the street on his way to work, a vehicle that was traveling south on Quinnipiac Avenue struck the man.

He was pronounced deceased on scene, police said.

The operator of the vehicle stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.

The South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit is investigating this incident. The identity of the deceased will be released after his family is notified.
